4th July was the date set for the Bristol Summer Course, on a very hot
day approximately ninety members turned out for this outdoor event,
along with our local instructors we had Les Birkin 7th Dan from
Colchester and 5th July 2015 was the date for the Western Karate Union summer Dan grading.

Max Avery, Max Jefferies, Madison Price, Sean Deady, Matthew Thurlow-Fox
and John Green all attained their Shodan grade,

James Trott the senior instructor of our Shotokan club worked well to
pass his Sandan grade.

Awards were also made to long serving members. John Mullins from the
Bristol club gained his Shodan, whilst from our Colchester area Alan
Taylor, Andy Smith and Richard Weller were all promoted to Godan grade. Shown below: Alan, Les Birkin, Richard and Alan.
